The World Series of Blackjack is a televised blackjack tournament created and produced by the cable network GSN. It is a closed tournament; players are either invited to play or can attempt to win a spot via a satellite tournament. Rounds are edited into 1-hour episodes and broadcast on GSN. Matt Vasgersian and Max Rubin provided commentary for the first two seasons. The third season began airing weekly on June 5, 2006 as part of GSN's Casino Night programming block, with new hosts John Fugelsang and Ben Mezrich. Season 4 premiered on GSN on June 4, 2007. A field of 40 players, including Celebrity Blackjack champion Caroline Rhea, baseball star Orel Hershiser and magician Penn Jillette competed for a $1 million prize pool. Vasgersian returned as commentator.

The World Series of Pop Culture was a VH1 game show tournament program sponsored by Alltel Wireless, based on Entertainment Weekly's Pop Culture Quiz. Sixteen teams, comprising three people each, compete to determine which team, collectively, knows the most about elements of popular culture. One of the teams each season was made up of three qualifiers selected on the basis of a test over the internet; the three internet qualifiers had no other connection to each other. Tapings for the first season took place in New York City from April 29 - April 30, 2006 at the Ziegfeld Theater. A wide range of topics are covered such as movies, music, TV and other miscellaneous pop culture. The top prize was $250,000. The show began on July 10, 2006, and the finale aired on Thursday, August 3, 2006. The hosts were Pat Kiernan and Lisa Guerrero. The second season of the show premiered on July 9, 2007. Auditions for the second season were held in January and February, and the tapings took place on March 22 and 23 at the Grand Ballroom of the Manhattan Center. There were two online qualification tests that season which took place on February 14 and February 20. Kiernan returned as host, with season 1 competitors "Cheetara" replacing Guerrero as backstage interviewers.

The original Japanese OVAs were produced from 1989 all the way up to 1998. Out of the 80 OVAs produced, only 30 were dubbed into English and compiled into a TV series. This anime aired on Toon Disney in the United States and on YTV in Canada. 13 OVAs with Hello Kitty, 10 with Keroppi, 4 with Pekkle, 2 with Pochacco and only 1 with Patty and Jimmy were dubbed into English. Two similar shows, Hello Kitty's Paradise and Hello Kitty's Animation Theater, as well as Growing Up With Hello Kitty, would follow this series between the mid 1990s and the early 2000s.

The World Series of Pop Culture is a VH1 game show tournament program. The second season was taped in New York City from March 22–23, 2007 at the Grand Ballroom at Manhattan Center. The top prize was $250,000 provided by Alltel Wireless. The tournament began airing on July 9, 2007, with a "soft", unadvertised premiere July 8. VH1 made the premiere episode available via the On Demand service of many cable systems starting July 2, 2007. Pat Kiernan returned to host the second season. Post-game interviews were handled by Erin Davidson, Katherine Gotsick, and Amber Tillett from season 1 team Cheetara. The tournament was won by NYU students Victor Lee, Andrew Unterberger, and Andrew Weber, collectively known as the Twistëd Misters. They split the $250,000 cash prize, and won an entry for a possible 2008 tournament, although the show has since been discontinued. Victor Lee, however, would go on to compete on GSN's Grand Slam, which aired just weeks after the World Series finale in the summer of 2007, where he would lose in the first round of the tournament.
