Rendez-vous

The story of three young men during the siege who were looking for an apartment that had survived the bombing, but found each other for life. Marat and Lika (she loved the proud Marat, but married Leonidik, who had lost his arm at the front) fled from their own happiness and are now painfully returning to it, learning to be happy again with such difficulty, as if learning to walk again. And Leonidik, for whom the burden of his love has become unbearable, unbearable, is learning to be free again with the same difficulty.

In this farcical dark comedy/melodrama, Lena manages to lose her place at college by virtue of throwing a minor hissy-fit when she catches her erstwhile boyfriend in bed with another girl. Instead of penalizing the boy for his behavior, Lena gets stuck with a court appearance and must pay a small fine, in addition to losing a boyfriend, her college career, and an apartment. Lena belongs to a film club which occasionally hands out awards, and the membership of it decides to send her into the Russian hinterlands to hand out an award to an obscure filmmaker. Throughout the film, Lena has been associated with a bizarre con man named Stepanych who, when his cons fall through, comes to her in the distant town she has gone to seeking her help in committing suicide.

Honza Marak has long since abandoned a career in IT and has bought a cottage on the outskirts of a small village, where he’s settled in with his wife Marketa, daughter Anyna and son Sayen. He works in the woods as a forest labourer repairing roads and enclosures, cutting wood to sell and assisting the foresters. Marketa earns a living as a masseuse and alternative healer, making use of various mind-altering plants and mushrooms, which leads to conflict with the old inhabitants and eventually with drug enforcement. Daughter Anyna attends a distant school where her grades deteriorate as she wanders the woods learning from nature rather than from her textbooks.

A singer returns to her hometown and puts together a team of fighters to go after local gangsters.

Lena, a 40-year-old actress freshly divorced, is determined to rebuild her life. Embracing change, she quickly plunges into the vibrant nightlife of Warsaw—and into the arms of Kundel, a young, charismatic student. Their relationship is a passionate explosion where the boundaries between intimacy and desire begin to blur. Meanwhile, Lena’s ex-husband Jan, a respected lawyer, struggles to accept the end of their marriage.
