Potter Puppet Pals is a puppet show web series parodying the Harry Potter novel series by JK Rowling, created by Neil Cicierega. The first two episodes were animated, both released in 2003 on Newgrounds. On September 26, 2006, the series was re-launched on YouTube under Cicierega's page as "Potions Class". Six more episodes were released by Cicierega between 2006 and 2009. Approximately one year after the seventh episode was released, a new video appeared on Neil's channel announcing an exclusive Potter Puppet Pals channel. On the same day, three more videos were released on this page. The Potter Puppet Pals make appearances at some Harry Potter parties, such as Yule Balls 2007 and 2010. Both the original animated episodes, as well as the first seven live-action episodes, have been published to the official Potter Puppet Pals webpage.

Puppet People was a TV series produced from 1973-1975 at CFCF-TV Montreal and telecast on most CTV affiliates throughout Canada. It was hosted by ventriloquist Jerry Layne who worked with his "friends" Lester and Herbie, puppets created for the show. Puppet People combined pre-taped comedy sketches featuring a cast of full size figures. These sketches were played into a game show featuring children answering questions based on the sketches. Live Studio Audience Puppet People was free to attend for a live studio audience, I am writing this paragraph as one who used to go to tappings as a child especially on my birthday to the studios of CFCF at 405 Ogilvy Avenue in Montreal. The opening theme was played on Kazoos by kids in the audience including a chant of "Puppet People, Puppet People, Puppet People" then the kazoos would go "do do do do, do do do do do ..." ending with a cheer. The series was the first production for producer/director Sidney M. Cohen. The Lester puppet once appeared on an episode of The Love Boat.

Puppet Up! – Uncensored is a live show produced by The Jim Henson Company combining puppetry and improvisational comedy created by Brian Henson and Groundlings performer Patrick Bristow. The show is advertised for "adults only" and as "uncensored." However one rare and "exclusive" set of shows "for children" were held in Edinburgh in 2006. The sketches in the live show are not pre-planned, and the shows contain all true improv. The puppeteers in the Henson improv troupe trained with Patrick Bristow for nine months to perfect their improv skills prior to their first show. Just like the Groundlings, the Henson improv sketches are performed based on audience suggestions.

Live Hot Puppet Chat gained its initial popularity on a student-run college television station in the Fall of 2005 at the University of California, San Diego, with a series of shows they titled "Season 2". The episodes were written and performed by Tristan Newcomb, and each episode had a different host: they were, in broadcast order, Skiddles, Prickle, Al the Slug, Reducey-Risk Reindeer, Barry Bible, and Dobo Disty. The theme of the show was that, in-between the scripted moments of puppet monologue, the students would telephone from their dorms and try to shock the puppets with as controversial a question as they could manage. The puppets would have varying reactions based upon their uncooperative or incompetent personalities, then lead the callers into conversations that ranged from adult themes to surreal Kafkaesque confrontations, depending on the episode. Some students began to issue complaints with college officials. After episode six, the student-run television station was shut down upon charges of "obscenity", stemming from the blasphemous content of the Barry Bible episode, though there is also evidence that the administration was unhappy with a couple of scattered porn broadcasts on the student channel. This debate between what got the station shut down is now roughly equally divided among those who say it was the porn, which is what the press articles focused upon, and those who say it was the Barry Bible episode, which is the claim of several student council members who dealt directly with the school administration on the controversy.
