In 1993, Senior Inspector Yeung Kwong-yiu was investigating a series of gruesome murders when he mysteriously traveled to 2018. Teaming up with Chan Hoi-ching, who had a unique approach to investigations, and the stoic Cheung Tin-ming, Kwong-yiu began to notice unsettling similarities between a new murder case and the cases he had previously investigated.
