Yue Moon-yuet, outwardly successful, hides a painful past she can’t forget. After leaving her boyfriend, veterinary surgeon Kam Wai-ting moves to Sai Kung with her beloved dog Donut and starts a new life. At her new workplace, Wai-ting meets animal communicator Wong Sing-yan. The duo often quarrel due to their different values regarding pets. In an accident, Sing-yan acquires skills for communicating with Donut, and a man and a dog gradually build a friendship and help each other. Sing-yan learns from Donut that Wai-ting has some love issues, so he helps her decipher her conundrum. The duo's relationship improves, and they gradually like each other. However, they do not have feelings of affection due to their age difference. Donut wants to play matchmaker for the duo, but it gets into hilarious situations. And its ideas even backfire. Each of the duo also has their own admirers, resulting in more obstacles in their relationship.

Urban legends, seemingly true yet seemingly fantastical, connect the past and future. While conducting research at Bride’s Pool, professor of folkloristics Poon Dor-lai experiences what appears to be paranormal encounters, but soon uncovers criminal exploits behind it. She teams up with journalist Fu Chi-pok to probe into the matter, unravelling the unknown background of bride-to-be Wong Yuk. The two decide to team up to continue work on Chi-pok's missing father's research paper on urban legends, but in the process, they discover many cases that bear similarity to the legends and they begin to suspect his disappearance.

Siu Wai-ming has been haunted by a dream of a woman wearing a cheongsam for many years. When he becomes an administrative manager for an old apartment building, he meets a tenant – air stewardess Alex Cheung – who looks exactly like the woman in his dream. As they get to know each other, the apartment building seems to come to life, performing the strange and fantastical lives of the tenants who live there.
