The story of three friends: a private detective with the ability to read minds, a lawyer with the gift of seeing the future of a person and a priest with the gift of seeing the past. All of them, thanks to their abilities, have settled into life quite well. But at some point, someone appears on the horizon who wants to take revenge on them for what they did in the distant past.

Paul I is called a tyrant and even a madman, but his character and history are much deeper than the mask that his descendants undeservedly endowed him with. His mother's estrangement, rejection of the court and endless attempts to figure out who and why actually killed his father formed a deeply tragic personality. After becoming emperor after many years of waiting, Paul sought to get rid of the permissiveness of the nobility and improve the lives of serfs and ordinary soldiers. However, will he succeed in realizing his plans and retaining power?

A complex multi-way operation begins. Hartman involves the chief of German intelligence, Walter Schellenberg, in whose field of vision is the German scientific genius Werner Heisenberg. The Gestapo also steps in and assigns an "employee of the German Foreign Ministry" Dori to Hartman. At the same time, in Moscow, under the leadership of the talented physicist Igor Kurchatov, work on the Soviet atomic project was intensifying.
