The Strain

This 1980s revival of the classic sci-fi series features a similar style to the original anthology series. Each episode tells a tale (sometimes two or three) rooted in horror or suspense, often with a surprising twist at the end. Episodes usually feature elements of drama and comedy.

Jay, Tyler and Will are friends who have spent the last two years in grad school. A simple prank to rollerblade through one of New York City's most famous museums makes Jay and Tyler prime suspects in a terrorist bombing. They're unable to turn to authorities when they realize they can't prove Will even exists. In every photo from the past two years, he has managed to block his face. Who will believe them?

Helena and Luciana are two supermodels with completely opposite personalities: the first is stormy and spoiled, while the second - being older - is patient and restrained. Their fate changes when Helena becomes involved with Marcos, Luciana's father, an older man recently divorced from a former model, Tereza, who does not accept the end of the marriage.

Xu Chun Mao, a gay man and sociologist, works as an assistant under the renowned Professor Li, both domestically and internationally. However, he struggles to deliver satisfactory results in his work. Prompted by Professor Li's casual remark, "Why don't you research the underworld?" Chun Mao ventures into society and among individuals vastly different from himself. These individuals are crude, adorned with tattoos, heavy drinkers, and they recognize each other as brothers. Behind them lies the dark underbelly of society. Chun Mao becomes increasingly intrigued by what's happening and realizes he is more interested in the honest physical responses of these brothers at the bottom of the underworld. Whether they are brothers enamored with shoes, immature minors, or those haunted by childhood traumas... Every debt among brothers must eventually be repaid, and Chun Mao, sinking deeper into this quagmire, is no exception.
