Mizuki, a retired marathon runner with limited social skills and no experience in love, struggles to adapt to her new job at a high-end hotel due to her lack of customer service skills. An MSDF submarine collides with a U.S. nuclear submarine, crushing all 76 people on board, including its CO, Shiro Kaieda. However, the crew survives. The accident is a cover story to get the MSDF submarine's crew on board the Seabat, a nuclear submarine secretly built by the Japanese and U.S. governments. However, Kaieda loads the Seabat with nuclear missiles and suddenly mutinies and flees.

Kazuki Yoshinami is a pharmaceutical researcher at a university. His friend Wataru Kashiwagi is also a pharmaceutical researcher at the same university. They are rivals, but talk to each other about their dreams. One day, Kazuki Yoshinami has a groundbreaking discovery. This leads to Kazuki Yoshinami and Wataru Kashiwagi becoming involved in a competition among companies over patents. Newspaper reporter Tomoko Kawahara, who is Kazuki Yoshinami’s childhood friend, becomes aware of this.
