Three short stories, all about bicycles and/or bicycle racing. Specifically, keirin track bicycle racing. An aging cyclist is too young to quit racing, but too old to keep up. A friendship between two old friends would fall apart, if it wasn’t for the keirin race. In between, a magical realist fable about the bond between a woman and her bike.

"Water reflections are never static, its fluid form constantly plays with the light in new and totally unique ways. Trying to capture this process naturally leads to an imperfect representation. Embracing this, ‘a puddle of water held in shape by my thoughts’ plays with the materiality of the digital image with the border between digital grain and the movement of the water constantly blurring. This ongoing research project consists of clips recorded over the last two years. - During the Leaving Space exhibition (2024) the work was presented as an installation using an old LCD screen, a wash-stool and other spacial elements. The space where the screen was installed could only be observed from the outside through the glass doors but not entered.

“After So Long // बरसों बाद” is a visual poetry set in Mumbai (India) and voiced by Simha and their parents to symbolise their connection with each other; a walkabout through time and memories. Directed by Varsha Panikar, the film takes inspiration from vintage-home-movie culture to create a contemplative and nostalgic vignette of an artist’s spiritual journey out of the darkness and into the light.

Four Poems is a series of video poems in which the horizontal lines of a poem, usually composed of text, have been substituted for horizontal lines of moving image. The piece explores what remains of a poem when its language is removed, and how images might interact with each other in similar or different ways to words. It asks whether rhyme, rhythm, sibilance, or dissonance, might be effectively created by juxtaposing images. It also asks whether arranging images might create a sense of authorship, intentionality, or a tone of voice, in the way that arranging words might. Finally, Four Poems invites the viewer to consider how they might ‘read’ a poem – does a reading have to occur from top-to-bottom, or might new interpretations be possible when the moving parts of the poem can all be seen at once?

"Saṃsāra" explores the cyclicality of all life, matter and existence through the voice of consciousness. A deep reflection in the context of isolation originated by the pandemic, focused on how to overcome pain, accept reality and let go from the past in order to inhabit the present moment by constant introspection. Andy the night watch was the cemetery gate keeper in Spoon river. He was overseeing the burial of all Spoon river residents. He was the silent observer of life in the small town, knowing everyone and their lives. He could see the good and bad, usually as they were intermixed after death. Having been given a final say following their passing, the bodies have a different story of their lies, cheating, corruption and neglect and Andy is shedding light to the underlying truth of the events.
