A football coach takes his team of teenage boys out on a fieldtrip to the provincial home of his grandfather. But instead of bonding as a team, the boys are more caught up with their gadgets. MTV Unplugged is a 2000 Grammy Award-winning live MTV Unplugged acoustic performance by Colombian born musician Shakira released in 2000 as an album and in 2002 as a DVD. Recorded in August, 1999 in New York City, New York, it is rated as one of her best-ever live performances and paved the way for her successful English cross-over recording Laundry Service (2001). The difference between the version screened on MTV and this release however, is the inclusion of an additional song and interview. As proved to be the case with the VH1 Storytellers show, Sting enjoyed himself so much doing the acoustic set, that the following month he did a similar set in his home town of Newcastle at the tiny Buddle Arts Centre. In August of 1996, Oasis, riding high from the overwhelming success of their first two albums Definitely Maybe and (What's the Story) Morning Glory?, were to perform on the hit MTV series Unplugged. However (as was often the case), problems arose within the band, namely between the most well known members of the group, Noel and Liam Gallagher. An argument began between the two brothers, ultimately ending with Liam bowing out of the concert. The idea of postponing, or cancelling the show outright, was discussed, but thankfully, Noel decided to go ahead and sing lead vocals. What some initially thought of as a potential disaster ended up as a brilliant performance from Oasis sans Liam, and for the first time, gave the entire world a good look at what Noel could do.
