Kim Heecheon constructs fictional narratives based on the digital technology in our lives, using interfaces such as 3D, games, and virtual reality as a way of putting them to the test. With narratives existing in multiple layers, he induces structural disturbances to visualize the fissures between the real and online worlds. Sleigh Ride Chill begins with a virtual character speeding through downtown Seoul in a room of a fictional character as he narrates a car racing game. The work alternates between the real and virtual as it draws connections with social issues such as suicide clubs, queer parades, and leaks of personal information. For the purpose of the Watch and Chill streaming platform, MMCA produced a special video with the artist talking about Sleigh Ride Chill, as he makes a casual conversation with his colleague/friend Jeon Hyo Gyong (Curator, Art Sonje Center) while driving the same path that appeared in the work both virtually and in real life.

This film was produced and distributed by the Warwick Trading Company, a London based company at its peak at this time, involved in the majority of British films.The Warwick Trading Company specialised in travel, reportage and actuality films and had substantial catalogues. Charles Urban had taken over as managing director in 1897 and was in that role when this film was produced. According to the BFI programme entry, the company had a large amount of resources already in South Africa. This meant they could capture historic moments as part of its Boer War coverage.
