The premise of the film - that people are bored and need something to do or perform is beside the point - there are people in Romania who will move an entire orchestra into a cave in the forest and thousands of people will arrive to watch a classical performance there. Breathtaking and fun at the same time.

The film is an ethnography of some Romanian folk customs, presented in their calendar order – Bunădimineața, Cu icoana, Colindele, Plugușorul, Plugul cel mare, Brezaia, Capra, Roata, Sorcova, Vasilca, Irozii, Jidovii, Boboteaza, Cucii, Junii din Brașov, Scaloianul, Călușarii, Nunta, Claca and, as well, Şatra, Lăzărelul and Paparudele. The film exists as an incredible document of these customs before the wide adoption of foreign traditions.

The region of Bucovina is located on the northern slopes of the central Eastern Carpathians and adjoining plains. The name came into official use in 1775 when the region was annexed from the Principality of Moldavia by the Habsburg Monarchy and then controlled by the Austrian Empire and later Austria-Hungary. But over the centuries, the region has also been subjugated by the Romans, Goths, Turks, Nazis, Russians, and others, and now is split between Northern Romania and Southern Ukraine. 'Souvenirs of Bucovina' is divided into two 80-minute acts which explore the history of the region, its enduring culture, the oppression of gypsies, the slaughtering of Jews in World War II, decades of Communist rule, and life since the democratic revolution of 1989.

For its opening concert, the Young Euro Classic features Austrian conductor Katharina Wincor and Romanian violinist Ioana Cristina Goicea. The two women will be joined on stage by the Romanian Youth Orchestra, who have already played a starring role at the Berlin festival.

Juvett is the father of the kidnapped girl, and is coming to pass over a million dollar ransom. A rival gang, who know about the kidnapping, plan to take the ransom for themselves. They follow Marin, believing him to be Juvett.

The young people are from Timisoara and Arad, runaway children who now live in abandoned houses or who have managed to get a job and live in rented accommodation after going through orphanages or prisons. After taking a beating from many teams, the young Romanians manage to beat the USA. They are happy. They are all thinking of never going "home" again. It's warm and nice here, the people are nice. "In case I stay, I kissed you all!" says one of them cautiously. But after taking pictures of themselves on the beach with the ocean behind them and beautiful girls by their side, the seven return to Romania and get on with their lives.
