'Prohibition' is an abstract work by Nick Rey Banda, as well as his first work in film, visualizing a soul’s rapid, ethereal transformations through universes of dancing colors. Simultaneously, the images we see are caged within opposing white borderings throughout the entire presentation, preventing the viewer from being fully immersed in the work. Banda’s distancing from the colors evokes a deep longing towards a realm just out of reach, and intends to represent desire and disadvantage in reaching the inner self.
