A young pastry cook is taking a cream cake to a customer, but on the way he places his basket on a seat to have a game of marbles with a telegraph boy. A chimney-sweep then comes and joins in the game. The telegraph boy having lost all, gives up the game, leaving his two partners, who are not long in starting a quarrel. In the meantime a policeman, who has been looking on, joins in the discussion, The little pastry cook who has not been having a good time, does not know how to defend himself, but suddenly an idea comes to him. He picks up the cake filled with cream and decides to crush it on the head of the sweep; but the latter, who has seen what was going to happen, stoops down, with the result that the policeman gets it full in the face.

A young couple meet in a land made of pastries. The two seem to fall in love at first sight, and arrange a "Pastry Town Wedding," conducted by small pastry-making people.

What is the worst thing that has happened to you on your birthday? Every year, one man must defend his birthday cake from his two friends.

Little Rocqueford is in the kitchen making a cake and accidentally drops an egg on the cat. The cat is highly offended by this affront to his dignity and, in the mêlées that follows, thinks he has killed Little Roqueford. He then suffers great pangs on conscience when he sees that the cake for for his birthday. But the little Mouse is alive and well and the cat is overjoyed.

For Mr.Weintraub, an elderly Jew from New York, all Arabs are terrorists, and for Hayat, a young Palestinian woman, all Jews are thieves and murderers. Mrs. Weintraub, a Holocaust survivor, never again wants to set foot on German soil. The story unfolds when the Weintraubs, on their way to Israel, stop in Switzerland. While eating rich German pastry, Mr. Weintraub collapses, and is rushed to a hospital where Hayat, the nurse, has to take care of him.
