In postwar Germany, an American psychiatrist must determine whether Nazi prisoners are fit to go on trial for war crimes, and finds himself in a complex battle of intellect and ethics with Hermann Göring, Hitler's right-hand man.

The film follows Kaspar Hauser, who lived the first seventeen years of his life chained in a tiny cellar with only a toy horse to occupy his time, devoid of all human contact except for a man who wears a black overcoat and top hat who feeds him.

1945. The International Military Tribunal begins its work in Nuremberg. A huge number of people from all over the world come to the trial, which will later be called the Trial of the Century: the city is crowded with journalists, lawyers, translators, witnesses and many participants and employees of the process.

In 1947, four German judges who served on the bench during the Nazi regime face a military tribunal to answer charges of crimes against humanity. Chief Justice Haywood hears evidence and testimony not only from lead defendant Ernst Janning and his defense attorney Hans Rolfe, but also from the widow of a Nazi general, an idealistic U.S. Army captain and reluctant witness Irene Wallner.

In May 1828, a feral boy aged around 16 was found in Nuremberg. Kaspar Hauser, as he is called, can only speak a few indistinct words and knows nothing about his origins or family. The film depicts the - presumed - circumstances under which Hauser was held captive in complete isolation in a hiding place from infancy onwards. From this emerges the picture of an intrigue involving high circles of aristocratic society. Five years after his liberation, in December 1833, Kaspar Hauser died as a result of a stab wound inflicted by an unknown perpetrator.

On 20 November 1945, in what had once been the spiritual centre of the Nazi Empire, the first Nuremberg trial opened. Nuremberg examines the first trail in detail: the scale and speed of the US-led effort to place the Third Reich's leaders in the dock; the charges brought against them; the courtroom drama; the final judgements. Of the 21 defendants, three were acquitted, seven given jail sentences and the remaining eleven sentenced to death, among them Hitler's right-hand man, Hermann Goering. This programme also explores the twelve subsequent trials against the backdrop of the emerging Cold War and the shifting allegiances of allies and enemies in the immediate post-war period.

When the Allies realized the full extent of the crimes of the Third Reich at the end of the Second World War, it was clear that they would not be satisfied with a simple capitulation. Those responsible should not get away with it. The result of these deliberations was the International Military Tribunal, whose proceedings have gone down in history as the "Nuremberg Trial" after the venue.

Still half a century ago, the old Ludwig-Main-Danube-Canal (in short: Ludwig-Canal) was located here, which represented the last puzzle piece to a navigable connection between the oceans. Build within a remarkable ten years’ time of construction, the canal, which was opened in 1846, was the realization of a small dream of humanity as it finally connected the North Sea with the Black Sea. Unfortunately, the idea could not support itself financially: Too powerful were the railroads, which saw its rise simultaneously, and which soon undermined the ambitious canal project’s future as they were in every regard the faster, more comfortable, and better means of transportation of the hour.

Now she wants to take over the criminal underworld of Nuremberg and become the gangster queen. When they find out about this, the government has a better android called S.V.E.N.J.A. developed, but this one also joins the underworld. As a last resort, the governor sends the toughest cop around into the turmoil. An apocalyptic inferno of violence ensues!
