Keith Emerson, Greg Lake and Carl Palmer first joined forces in 1970 and went on to become a global success story. After a break in the eighties, they reunited in the early nineties and took to the road once more. In 1997 they made their debut at the Montreux Jazz Festival with a performance that included all their trademark virtuosity and showmanship. The show includes classic tracks from across their career including Karnevil 9, Hoedown, Take A Pebble, Lucky Man, Tiger in the Spotlight, Tarkus and Fanfare for the Common Man. Live at Montreux 2013 is a live album of a concert performed by ZZ Top on July 10, 2013 at the Montreux Jazz Festival, Switzerland, released in July 2014 on DVD and Blu-ray by Eagle Vision. The set list blends tracks from early seventies albums such as Tres Hombres and Fandango through their eighties period with Eliminator and Afterburner, and up to their most recent release and return to their blues roots with La Futura. The middle section of the concert features a jazz-blues tribute to the late Montreux Jazz Festival founder Claude Nobs, with guest appearances by Mike Flanigin on Hammond Organ and Van Wilks on guitar.

Legendary rocker and bluesman Stevie Ray Vaughan performs with the band Double Trouble in two influential shows, in 1982 and again in 1985, at the Montreux Rock Festival. Concert footage is mixed with a documentary on Vaughan. Kenny G made his first appearance at the Montreux Jazz Festival in 1987 on the back of his multi-platinum album "Duotones" and the hit single from it "Songbird", which was riding high in charts around the world as the festival got underway. The success of Kenny's first appearance led to an invitation to return the following year, when he included a track from his then yet to be released album "Silhouette" in the set. A true Jazz fusionist, he has often incorporated elements of funk, pop, rock, blues, Brazilian in his compositions. David Grusin is an American composer, arranger and pianist. Throughout his career he won numerous awards for his soundtracks and record works, including an Academy award and 12 Grammys.

Etta James made many appearances at the Montreux Jazz Festival across her long and distinguished career from her first concert in 1975 through to her last in 2008. This release focuses on the concert from 1993 when she was at her absolute peak and complements it with selected tracks from many other Montreux appearances. It features many of her best loved tracks and songs that she is particularly associated with. Etta James was one of the most respected performers of her generation. In a career stretching over 60 years she was inducted into the Rock’n’Roll Hall Of Fame and the Blues Hall Of Fame, won 3 Grammys and received many more nominations and was named Female Blues Artist Of The Year on no less than 14 occasions. Etta James sadly passed away after a long illness in January 2012 and this DVD is a fitting tribute to one of the greatest female vocalists of the 20th century.

UB40 are one of the most successful British acts of all time, with a huge string of hits on both sides of the Atlantic and around the globe. Featuring most of their greatest hits, including both songs to hit #1 in America: "Red, Red Wine" and "Can't Help Falling In Love". To date, 2002 is the band's only appearance at the Montreux Festival but clearly inspired them to produce one of their finest performances. This performance is being simultaneously released on CD.

It’s a fifth appearance at Montreux for this singer in from the cold who has her musical family to keep her warm. A key figure of contemporary jazz, Diana Krall bewitches with her rounded contralto timbre and her piano rambles, for which she’s been awarded several Grammies. In her most recent album, Glad Rag Doll (2012), Diana mischievously extracts the charm from ’20s standards and polishes them up as though they had just been invented yesterday. Wayne Shorter is one of the most significant jazz performers of modern times. He performed as part of Art Blakey's Jazz Messengers and then Miles Davis' band in the sixties before co-founding Weather Report with Joe Zawinul in the early seventies. This Montreux concert from 1996 features the Wayne Shorter Quintet and followed on from the release of his Grammy Award winning album "High Life".

Patti Smith was one of the key artists in the breakthrough of New York City punk rock with her 1975 album "Horses" being hugely influential on the entire New Wave genre. Her distinctive blend of rock, punk and poetry combined with her uncompromising style has ensured that she remains a credible artist throughout her career. This Montreux concert was part of the tour in support of her 2004 "Trampin'" album and the set list features tracks from her first album right through this release. This first-ever live concert is an overdue treat for all of her fans. This 2005 concert by rock icon Patti Smith finds the beloved singer and songwriter delivering a dozen songs from throughout her storied career including "Because the Night," a cover of "Like a Rolling Stone," and "Redondo Beach."

Captured here for the first time ever is the Jeff Healey Band’s 1999 performance at Montreux. Featuring 10 songs from their set, the band (Healey, Joe Rockman on bass, Pat Rush guitar, and Tom Stephen on drums) whips the crowd into a frenzy with a high energy, minute blues jam. Included in this set are the show opening "My Little Girl", their cover The Doors’ "Roadhouse Blues" (featured in the movie "Roadhouse") and perhaps their well known song, "Angel Eyes", which was a Top 10 smash in the US in 1988. As a bonus, fans are treated to 4 tracks from their 1997 Montreux appearance at Stravinski Hall.

Carlos and the band have been frequent visitors to Montreux over the years and in 2011 they presented a stunning concert of their greatest hits, classic album tracks and brilliant cover versions from their debut album right up to 2010's Guitar Heaven . This is the ultimate Santana live concert and absolutely not to be missed.

Legends is one of the most musically accomplished groups of all time. With Eric Clapton on guitar, Joe Sample of The Crusaders on keyboards, virtuoso saxophone player David Sanborn and super session players Steve Gadd on drums and Marcus Miller on bass, the group's pedigree is extraordinary. They never made an album and this concert at Montreux is the only record of their stunning collaboration.

The night of July 12th 2010 was a memorable evening in the history of the Montreux Jazz Festival. The theme of the night was "Singin' and Swingin'" and it starred Roger Cicero and his fantastic Big Band under the guidance of Lutz Krajenski. Cicero and Hs Band gave an electrifying performance with a mixture of swing ballads, seventies' soul and danceable grooves featuring classics like "Zieh die Schuh aus", "Nicht artgerecht" and "Wenn sie dich fragt" and the English adaptations of his hits "Murphys Gesetz" ("Murphy's Law") and "Ich had das Gefühl für dich verlor'n" ("That You And I Feeling"). Roger Cicero enchanted the crowd and his musicians thrilled this discerning audience. What a show!
