The camera gets lost in the deserted streets and lonely reflections of the city lights. Without words, it captures the loneliness of souls who, although surrounded by crowds and concrete, remain invisible and disconnected. Every corner, every abandoned detail, every step echoing along tells an untold story, where the silence of the night is the only interlocutor.

Trapped in a metaphorical room built from illusions and contradictions, he reflects on his dual persona—the social facade and the hidden, lost self. The film questions how we see ourselves versus how others see us and whether true self-recognition is possible. Through minimalist dialogue and layered symbolism, the film captures the silent tension between who we are, who we appear to be, and who we long to become.

The artist Bruce Nauman set the corner post of a fence on his ranch in Galisteo, New Mexico, one day and videotaped the process. As the title of Setting a Good Corner (Allegory & Metaphor) suggests, Nauman sees this simple, even mundane, activity as an allegory and metaphor for other areas of life. Maybe we are to see the work as a metaphor for making a work of art, since Nauman has chosen to film it for display in a museum. One of the key elements of the video is Nauman’s decision to show us the entire process. He does not leave out the long digging scenes or edit the piece down to its most essential components.

Corinne Cantrill’s film At Eltham from 1974 explores her fascination with Australian landscapes and introduces her interest in playing the 16mm camera functions as a musical instrument.
