Adapted from one of China's most well-known fairy tales, the Goddess of Mount Hua falls in love with a young mortal scholar Liu Yanchang and gives birth to a baby son, Chenxiang. When Chenxiang grows up, he seeks to unravel the mystery surrounding his mother whom he has never met.

Magic Lamp is a 2008 Indian Malayalam film, directed by K. K. Haridas and produced by Cherupuzha Jose. The film stars Jayaram, Oduvil Unnikrishnan, Kottayam Nazeer and Meena in lead roles. The film had musical score by Ouseppachan.

There is some unnecessary padding throughout as characters break into songs that do nothing but tell parts of Once upon a time, somewhere in Africa, a local magician dreamed of owning the Magic Lamp. Thanks to a Magic Ball he learned that the Lamp could be found in an Asian village and that only the innocent hand of a young person could snatch it. Creampanda and Kokin-chan picked up a mysterious lamp. What emerged from the lamp was the spirit girl Mija.
