In the 50s, the complicated life of a popular writer who must share his life with his family, his numerous mistresses and his work

This project began out of a desire to express the grief experienced from the loss of a parent. While attempting to describe this grief through language — visual or otherwise — it became evident that some events are indescribable without losing the very agency one has in having experienced the loss in the first place.

Montse, divorced and with two children who have long ignored her, prepares for a family reunion at her home on the Costa Brava.

It begins with a Tannhäuser performance and ends with the premiere of The Tales of Hoffmann. In between a young ingénue cast in her first big role, the Hoffmann rehearsals, the theatre director and his stage director exchanging cynicisms, a budding love affair. Gründgens at his most repulsive, trying to woo both lovers. And a hair-raising finale. Add to this some snappy dialogue and "pre-code" scenes that make you sit up and stare.
