My name is HER Yoon-soo and Iminm 25 years old. Iminve somehow managed to graduate from a film school, and now my dream is to stand on my own two feet while making films. Yet in reality, I still flit from one part-time job to another, working at cafes and restaurants. I turn to some of the alumni from my film school in search of success stories. But the reality they face is far different from my expectations.

Found Super 8mm home movies of wildlife from 1960s apartheid era South Africa and colonial Rhodesia (Zimbabwe) comprise the visual elements of African Film School. In order to disrupt the viewer, American filmmaker Roger Horn juxtaposes these found images with audio he recorded while attending a wildlife film-training program in Cape Town in 2007. Through the disruption of filmmaking conventions Horn looks to make the viewer confront their own stereotypes and ponder the nature of capturing images in Southern Africa.

Film School Confidential chronicles five film students over the course of one school year: Sara, an intellectual, Sal, who makes an earnest first film, Mark, who shoots wild, psychedelic images, Greg, who works hard at cinematography, and Marta, Sara's quiet freshman roommate.
