Then, they led a campaign of ethnic cleansing in the country, while participating actively in the Final Solution. However, their regime is one of the lesser known ones of WWII and their story has almost been forgotten. Why has it been so thoroughly erased?

Vojvodina, 1991. A Croatian civilian POW named Ivan manages to escape a Serbian prison camp. Finding nowhere else to go, he spends the night on a seemingly wealthy plot of land. Either Ivan stays and does Stevan's dirty work, or he surrenders him to Serbian paramilitary authorities. During his stay he meets Ana, Stevan's daughter-in-law, whose trapped in a loveless marriage with his violent son Dušan, whose currently situated on the frontlines somewhere in Croatia. Finding company in each other's sorrow, the two Croats slowly begin to fall in love.

The installation is inspired by the life story of Renata’s great-grandmother who lived on the island of Brač, whose husband went to Chile looking for work in order to secure his family’s future. Like many of the island’s women, she waited for her husband who, like many of the men, never returned.
