A unique silent film made in the mid-1970s providing an overview of the era’s pivotal social movements, from the fight for Civil Rights to the Anti-War movement. Through a series of quickly edited montage sequences, Confrontation offers prescient commentary regarding the country's stark racial divisions, governmental corruption under Nixon, and rampant consumerism, amongst other issues. Bailen combines footage of the 1963 March on Washington for Jobs and Freedom and protests against the Vietnam War in Chicago, IL, juxtaposing them with newspaper headlines and still image photography from different magazines or advertisements that provide sardonic commentary on the issues explored throughout the film.

In 1979, in one of the northern Soviet cities, the police are investigating the murder of a man who was on his way home from the gold mines. The detectives track down the main suspect, Grigory Milinko. But the further the case progresses, the more complicated it becomes, as it turns out that the real Milinko died during the war. So someone stole his name. The criminal is declared wanted throughout the Soviet Union, but the crimes continue.

Mahmoud leaves his town after offering his shroud to stop the bloodbath between his family and another family. The dispute began when Mahmoud met Salim, the chief of the Hawara, who has complete control over the town. Salim wanted to buy the share of his brother's widow, Atiyat, who refuses to sell. Mahmoud sympathizes with her against Salim, who is subjected to an attempted murder by some of the locals, so Mahmoud protects him with his pampering among the locals. Salim's son assaults Mahmoud's daughter, Fatima, and then kills her. He accuses Atiyat's brother of the crime, and Salim demands revenge and justice, and seeks to achieve it himself, but a surprise occurs that changes the course of events.

When Hank sensed that Stone began to suspect him, and told Stone that he had bought the airplane ticket to the States. When it was time for the third witness to go to court, Stone exchanged clothes with him and waited for the killer.

The Building Bridges project brings together perpetrators of crime with the victims of crime. Behind the walls of the prison in Jiřice near Nymburk, one such group tells stories that have fatally affected their lives in a conference room over the course of eight weeks. So-called restorative justice sees crime primarily as harm and the disruption of interpersonal relationships. It is in partnership with victims that offenders are encouraged to take responsibility for their actions. Not only is the will to listen to the other person necessary, but also the ability to consciously reflect on the causes and consequences of one's actions in a complex web of social contexts.
