Inverting the form, style and time frame of commercial television advertising, Logue has produced a unique series of dynamic video portraits of avant-garde artists, writers, musicians and performers. In 30 Second Spots: New York, which Logue terms "commercials for artists," each of the succinct vignettes conveys the artistic essence of her subject with clarity, wit, and an elegant economy of means. John Cage, Steve Reich, Philip Glass, Meredith Monk, Spalding Gray and Steve Reich are among the artists who are captured here with concise drama. Each subject performs in close-up before a stationary camera.

Edward Kaminsky, an aging ad man, wants a golden parachute from his agency; he must first land the Opel auto contract. Rosa, a youth with wealthy parents, wants to establish herself as an artist. The clumsy and enthusiastic Viktor, not quite honest, wants work. When he wanders into Kaminsky's meeting with Opel and says something about irony, the Opel director wants him in on the campaign. Then he steals an idea from Rosa that the Opel director loves. Before Rosa discovers he's expropriated her idea, Rosa and Viktor become lovers. Father-son feelings materialize between Kaminsky and Viktor. Can the impulsive Viktor hold it together before Rosa learns the truth and flies away?

This animated film is an advertisement for the Danish weekly magazine ‘Hjemmet’, which is still published today. ‘Hjemmet’, meaning ‘Home’, was originally called ‘Damernes Blad’ (‘The Ladies’ Magazine’) but changed its name in 1904, a few years after it was acquired by the publishing company Egmont. The advertisement was drawn by the much beloved Danish multi-talent Robert Storm Petersen, popularly known as Storm P., whose many accomplishments included being behind some of Denmark’s earliest animated films. This ad also includes a few seconds of live-action footage showing Storm P. himself smoking a pipe and reading an issue of ‘Hjemmet’. (Stumfilm. dk)

This is a commercial for an app concept created by 15 year old students of Nordseter School in Oslo, Norway. The students were part of the student-company subject. "Ledig" is an app that focuses on neighbourhood jobs for the youth. The app can be used by young people searching for jobs, and by people needing help. The commercial can be found under "Ledig EB - Reklamefilm" on YouTube. The app is still a concept, and Ledig is today decommissioned.
