Berlin, Germany. A cruel murder took place in an appartment building. Somebody bit off quite a piece of the victim's penis, who then, of course, lost a lot of blood, before being struck down at the head. Leading investigator Bernhard Kominka, being in stress due to a mentally retarded son and a problematic wife, seems to be the only one to see a lady in a red coat. After a while, his theory of her being the murderer may prove to be true, but the Cop also kind of fell in love with this new, interesting person in both of his lives: professional and private as well. Borders dissolve. His decision may be disastrous in any way.

In 1982, director Vasyl Viter shot the first feature film in Soviet cinema history on videotape. It was a film based on Pavlo Zagrebelny's essay "Clarinets of Tenderness." Pavlo Tychyna was played by the young popular theater director Valentin Kozmenko-Delinde. Pavlo Tychyna's mother was played by Nina Matvienko. It was her first role in a feature film. She also performed a romance in the film based on Tychyna's words, "That Garden, and Night, and Stars..." The music for the romance and for the film was written by the brilliant Ukrainian composer Oleg Kiva, and later this music became the basis for his amazing cantata, which was performed by the Kyiv Camerata orchestra together with Nina Matvienko.

FRAGMENT | A man looks around and sees a dog in a trashcan, after which his nose transforms into a clarinet that he plays for the dog. The film was made by the popular Danish cartoonist Robert Storm Petersen, popularly known as ‘Storm P’, who created some of Denmark’s very first cartoons, among many other things. The day she turns 40, Marguerite Flora, a successful rep for a nuclear power company, begins receiving letters she'd sent to herself at age seven. The letters tell her what to do if her life hasn't turned out the way she thought it should, when she was living in poverty with her mother and brother in a small village in southern France. Despite their different perspectives on things, three people set up a conspiracy plan to escape from a mental institution.

Danny O'Neill and Hank Taylor are rival trumpeters with the Perennials, a college band, and both men are still attending college by failing their exams seven years in a row. In the midst of a performance, Danny spies Ellen Miller who ends up being made band manager. Both men compete for her affections while trying to get the other one fired.

This film is less a typical musical short and more like an educational film. It consists of a narrator describing the music, composition and style of a big band.
