Highlights the rebellious young generation of artists in China fighting for political emancipation, artistic freedom and creating a cultural golden age during the 1980s - a significant decade of transformational change. Interweaving six main characters' memories with the director's personal narration, the film embarks on an emotional journey and tells a story of being passionate and idealistic before dreams are dashed to pieces.

In the 1980s we got our MTV but seemed to have lost much of the musical film in the process. But the genre is resilient. A handful of masterpieces along with a few cult classics emerged from this decade. In the 1990s the Hollywood musical was largely animated, rather than live action. However, television had a surprising number of musical offerings, including “Gypsy” with Bette Midler and “Annie” which launched director Rob Marshall. In the 2000s musicals came back starting with “Moulin Rouge” and carrying on with “Chicago,” “Dreamgirls” and “Hairspray.” There are movies based on Broadway triumphs and once again there are teens singing and dancing.

Four teenagers, (Chad Quarterback, Cherry Pop, Eddie Stone, and Mary Abstine) are celebrating one last camping trip together before they all go their separate ways to different colleges. The only catch being they decide to camp in the supposedly cursed forest known as "Hades' Woods". Once they're all settled at their campsite, they decide to chant an ancient spell to summon the almighty demon lord, the slayer of saints, Hellfire Hades! (Y'know, as all teenagers do!) To them, it's nothing more than an urban legend. But little do they know that Hellfire Hades is very real and will stop at nothing until all those that have disturbed his presence are completely and utterly destroyed. Can they survive?

Seeking to uncover the fate of those slain before them, Freddy Stone, Chris Scendo, Penny Moneysworth, Morganna Midnight, and Mike Calculus venture out into the accursed Hades Woods. Once there, they discover an ancient text consumed by witchcraft deep in the Groundskeeper's cabin: The Book of Hades. When they look to the book for answers, they soon learn that the one behind the massacre that occurred just months prior was none other than HELLFIRE HADES himself! They may find the answers they were looking for, but that comes with conjuring the terrifying return of the slayer of saints, the demon lord from another realm, ready for his attack on the 1980’s once again. While hoping the spellbound pages give them a fighting chance at survival, what they unleash is nothing short of bewitchment, devilry, and all sorts of voodoo.

"The rumours have circulated for decades. Did the CIA flood the inner cities of the US with crack cocaine in the 1980s? Was the American government actually responsible for the crack epidemic? "Often dismissed as a conspiracy theory, but passionately believed by huge sections of the population – the idea that US intelligence agencies knowingly protected drug traffickers and played a role in bringing cocaine into the US is one of the most often repeated stories of the War on Drugs. "But what is the truth to these allegations? It turns out the real story is perhaps even stranger than the street-level gossip. "This is how one reporter exposed a web of CIA cover-ups, and how the rest of the media destroyed him for doing so."

Back in 1986, my team filmed a local heavy-metal hard-core band in Belfast Maine called Hatred (later they became the band Weapons). The band members were wonderfully articulate teenagers heavily influenced by Metallica, Motley Crue, Black Flag, Slayer, Exodus and others. They had dropped out of school and were competing in a battle of the bands competition. I didn't understand Heavy Metal at the time but I found these young men expressive – good folk. Some time ago I posted an interview with lead singer head banger Eddie and his mom debating whether or not this music was the music of Satan. The interview is very popular with my YouTube audience and so I have posted this video to further tell their story and give a sense of their experience with the music and the local people in Maine who had come to hear their band and others.

An informative and brief register that shed light on the spectacular rise of action movies in the 1980's; the reasons behind its huge demand in that period; the movies that redefined the genre and the famous action stars who conquered audiences, some critics and the box-office with their larger than life pictures. Directors, actors and historians debate the reasons why audiences embraced the action films in that decade and the importance those films would have in popular culture and in the film industry in the following decades.
