Kunimatsu Onda, chairman of the ‘Matsuya’ pachinko chain, has entrusted the flagship ‘Matsuya Ekimae’ branch to his son Ryosuke, the company president, and his wife Masayo, the managing director, and is now enjoying a life of leisure. However, with the opening of the ‘Jumbo’ pachinko parlour on the opposite side of the station, the Ekimae branch sees a drop in customer numbers and finds itself in a precarious situation

The film is based on the novel of the same name written by Teru Miyamoto, and the screenplay was written by Eizo Sugawa, who also wrote "Horagawa". The director is Takeichi Saito, who also directed "Kawachi no Osan no Uta: Yokita no Ware". Kozo Okazaki, who worked on "I am a Cat," is in charge of the cinematography.
