The enemies have closed the deal that whoever loses the competition organized by the Society or Meat Products from Fresh Pigs must leave town forever. And that threatens not only Mr. Tuitjes' business, but also the love between Greetje and Nol. Suddenly, the annual sausage competition becomes a devilish dilemma: will Greetje choose her father's luck, or her own?

When Max goes out looking for troll’s footsteps, he climbs the fence of luxury hotel Dikkersdorp. Caught by a security guard who mistakenly holds him responsible of a theft orchestrated by the mysterious Pie, Max is in trouble. Luckily, his new neighbor Sellie sets him free and, together, they meet with Trollie. Unfortunately, Sellie’s father hears about the troll and goes out of his way to expose the creature to the public. But Trollie is very miserable being put in display and Max stages his escape to reunite his troll friend with his family in the land of Ekeby.

When they are confronted with the disease of the pater familias, all the members of the Liefhebber family have to face their fears, faults and their troubled interrelationships.

When Paul, whose large jug ears are quite apparent on class photo day, and some of the other “ugly” kids are taken on a surprise trip, they realize that the president wants to hide them away. On the run, Paul is helped by Sara, one of the “pretty” kids. They start an underground club to fight against the president. The movement soon turns into a revolution. The kids show the world that even children can rise up – and that you don’t have to be “pretty” to be a hero!
