Sven Melander

In the spring of 2022, the comedian, actor and journalist Sven Melander passed away after a long illness. He then had a long career behind him in stage, film and television. With his unique combination of warmth, intelligence and mischievousness, he not only won the audience's love, but also made a clear mark in Swedish entertainment history. In this portrait, the story of Sven's career is told, but we also meet him on a more personal level when he talks about his alcoholism, outlook on life, childhood and where he got his sense of humour.

Compiled from the first season of the web-series “Mina problem”, this is a feature length version of the meta-comedy following comedian Simon Gärdenfors as himself. Navigating the stand-up scene of Sweden and some tangled relationships, the film sees the reality merge with fiction in fun ways.

On May 8, 1978, it was unusually quiet in the Aftonbladet editorial office. A stenciled document lay on every desk. "About our life at Aftonbladet, by the women in the Aftonbladet editorial office" was the text on the red cover, and the pages contained testimonies of sexual harassment and a deep-rooted alcohol culture in the workplace. The manifesto created a heated debate and later led to Aftonbladet starting the first women's editorial office in Swedish press. This documentary is about how the Document, 40 years before #metoo, changed the world, at least a little.

At the Café René in the small French commune of Nouvion everything is as usual. Chaos. René himself is trying to keep a straight face in a dangerous game. Of course he has to stay on the good side of the Germans in order to not get in trouble. He also has to do the same thing with his wife Edith for the same reason. For completely different reasons he stays on the good side of his waitresses Mimi and Yvette. At least when Edith isn't around.

In Knohult things havn't changed much. Eulalia is tired of Nisse who's engaged in all sorts of inventions in his workshop or poaching in the forest rather than to repair the water pump. When Eulalia in protest begins swimming in soft drinks and water the plants with spirit Åsa-Nisse sees nothing else to do but to repair the pump. As with all his inventions he adds a few extra features ... When he starts the machine the ground rumbles and up comes oil instead of water! Now, not only Åsa-Nisse, but the whole Knohult sees their chance to become wealthy! But "Dunderpumpen", as he calles the invention, turns out to be stronger than anyone had imagined, and when shady Scanian oil magnates with support of the Swedish government wants their share of the pie Knohult declares themselves a republic...

The Stig-Helmer Story is a 2011 Swedish comedy film directed by Lasse Åberg. The film is the sixth in the series about Stig-Helmer Olsson.

The brothers Ingmar and Gustav Nilsson are running a motel and a shop where everything from car tires to fish nets can be bought. They're very unsuccessful, and Ingmar wants to sell the place, but Gustav doesn't. One day the municipality wants to buy their business buildings, but they refuse to tell why until they've bought it.
