A body is found in a canal on the Danish border. The woman was murdered in the same way as three before her. Special investigator Gloria Acheampong is sent to the province to take on the case.

Designer Nika in particular gets on really well with the creative Manu, beyond all the children's issues. Tom is not quite so enthusiastic, he would like to keep the relationship on an employee basis, because Manu is increasingly intruding into their family life, spending the night with them and "standing in" for Nika at a family weekend.
