It started as just another warm night, back in June 2017 at the Waldbühne, Berlin. But when Ludovico Einaudi started to play, it became a Midsummer Night’s dream for everyone there. An unforgettable concert, in which he performed music from his album “Elements” as well as further repertoire, Nuvole Bianche, Una Mattina, Night and many more.

2016 marks the 500th anniversary of the death of Hieronymus Bosch. It is almost the only information about the artist of The Garden of Earthly Delights that we can put a precise date to. Bosch, the garden of dreams is a film about his most important painting and one of the most iconic paintings in the world: The Garden of Earthly Delights.

Ludovico Einaudi performed his latest album ‘In a Time Lapse’ at the 11,000 capacity Arena di Verona in July 2014. Einaudi is accompanied on stage by 11 musicians comprising of strings, electric bass, guitar and percussion. The result is an 11-track, 61 minute extravaganza. The release of this comes a day after a sold-out 5,000 seat open-air concert at Blenheim Palace, where the same set will be played. This concert takes place on 28th June. 2014

An Italian pianist, composer and film collaborator, Einaudi draws from experimental jazz, avant-garde classical and world music to perform at the iTunes Festival. Since 2009, he has been incorporating synthesized electronic sounds into his compositions alongside his fluid piano parts, drawing comparisons to Radiohead. Support tonight comes from Agnes Obel, a Danish singer-songwriter who makes haunting, intricately harmonised, piano-led songs.

In his mingling of ambient, minimalist and cinematic strains, and his ear for a poignant melody, Ludovico Einaudi is the Italian equivalent of Michael Nyman, straddling classical, jazz, soundtrack and chillout. His live band on this 2CD/1DVD set, for instance, features To Rococo Rot's Robert Lippok on live electronics alongside the piano, guitar, percussion and string orchestra, the elements blended seamlessly on material ranging from the sombre "Bye Bye Mon Amour" to the evocative "Nightbook". "Lady Labyrinth" displays Einaudi's characteristic cyclical piano motif – not strictly minimalist – fattened by strings and driven by hand percussion, which develops a compelling momentum.
