In 2003, Okinawan high schooler Miu gets interested in Minato-senpai, who has just lost his both parents. She cheers him up by exchaning MiniDisk mix tapes with him. They start a long-distance relationship when Minato graduates and moves to Tokyo, and Miu eventually follows him to Tokyo for college. Some years later, while Miu is struggling with her job hunting, Minato suddenly breaks up with her, and she returns to Okinawa. 15 years later in 2024, Miu is married to her childhood friend Ryusei, and is now terminally ill. Her daughter Himari is sent to Tokyo to deliver a message on a MiniDisk to the man her mother loved.

"Tales of the Bizarre: 2023 Fall Special" (世にも奇妙な物語 '23秋の特別編) is a Japanese anthology drama that aired on Fuji TV on November 11, 2023. This special presents four unique, mysterious tales. Hidetada Tokugawa died suddenly and the death of the Shogun upset the Tokugawa system, and was concealed by a part of the Oku-cho. To top it off, Hidetada's successor had not yet been determined. Originally, there should be no objection that the legitimate son, Iemitsu, succeeds as the third shogun. But a gap was beginning to grow between the Tokugawa Shogunate andToshikatsu Doi. Doi, who scrutinizes the cause of the general's death, stealthily examines Hidetada's stomach, but is suddenly caught by someone who appears. It was nne other than Shogun Yasunari, a shogun swordsman. His autopsy reveals that Hidetada's death was due to arsenic.

The story is set 155 years ago, during the battles that ended the Shogun era and through the eyes of young Itosato, we gather an interesting glimpse into a world surrounded by the most arcane women, who for the times they were destined to live, were very similar to the women of today; displaying leadership and strength within the bounds of a society at large. Itosato is a "TENJIN,' who is a courtesan in training just beneath the rank of TAYOU, which carries an Aristocratic title of Supreme Entertainer in the old capital city of Kyoto. There are two more women who play a key role in this story and all three women are in love with men who are commanders within the infamous special police task force, Shinsengumi. A task force that was organized to protect Shogun government under the command of the Kyoto Military Commissioner.

Michiko Oshitani, who lived in Shiga Prefecture, is found dead at an apartment in Tokyo. She was strangled to death. Mutsuo Koshikawa is the owner of the apartment and he goes missing. Detectives including Yuhei Matsumiya who is a cousin of Detective Kyoichiro Kaga , have difficulties in solving the case. They can't find a connection between Michiko Oshitani and Mutsuo Koshikawa. They soon learn that Michiko Oshitani came to Tokyo to visit Hiromi Asai . They graduated from the same school, but there isn't a connection between Hiromi Asai and Mutsuo Koshikawa. Detective Yuhei Matsumiya finds something near Michiko Oshitani's body. That something has the names of 12 bridges surrounding the Nihonbashi area of Tokyo. Detective Kyoichiro Kaga learns of the clue and becomes agitated. There's a connection with his late mother
