A comedy about a Danish private detective, normally just occupied with cases about unfaithful spouses, is suddenly involved in murder, arms deal, revolution in Guateragua, briefcase full of money and the Danish intelligence agency.

In the vicinity of Copenhagen, a group of pensioners live in a very large villa. The owner, Doctor Bach, has invited a colleague, the young master Peter Park , to visit him. They have a common interest that they could discuss during his stay. When he arrives, it is at a most inconvenient time. He is greeted by the doctor's sister, the almost deaf Camilla, who does not understand much of what is going on around her. The doctor has completely forgotten that he invited Park, but he settles him into the villa nonetheless. Here, Park meets the doctor's granddaughter, the young and beautiful Lise Bach (Henriette Normann), to whom he is immediately attracted. When Lise asks her grandfather if he is going out again, the doctor explains that he is going to the cinema with his good friend Friis.

Rikki was devorced recently, and now find herself paying the bills on her own. And life is not cheap, especially when you have a young child to care for. To make ends meet, Rikki begins to frequent a bar where she can work as a prostitute.

Several months pass, and the baron and Amelie are to be married. When Bierbaum finds out about this, he seeks out Amelie. Little does he know that Hans has returned from Germany.

A beauty contest, in which the young Jonna, who works as a sales assistant in a dress shop, participates almost by chance, results in her being suddenly swept into the world of film and show business, because a film producer in attendance finds her type interesting and wants to try to launch her as a new name.

Martin the vagabond is cheerful and musical like few others. Together with his new friend Anders, he sings his way to a meal and a place to sleep. During a performance, Anders meets the daughter of Bakkegaarden, whose mother has been a widow for a long time and may have a past with Martin. He is a taxi driver and experiences the small and big events of the big city in a way that only a man behind the wheel of a taxi with the whole city as his workplace can. But a shadow hangs over their marriage – a shadow from the past. Else was married once before, but had to divorce because her former husband, Eigil Rasmussen, suffered from pathological jealousy.

The festive Mrs. Ingeborg, who earns her living playing the organ in church and at dances when the young people want to party, is constantly short of money. That is why she has a little side business: she teaches piano. Mrs. Ingeborg has a close family relationship with her lodger, the young veterinarian Kåre. He has repeatedly helped her financially. Mrs. Ingeborg needs money for a new dress for her foster daughter Nelly to wear to the party. Aunt Jessie lives on the first floor. She was once in a relationship with Mrs. Ingeborg's brother, but he broke up with her and married someone else. However, Mrs. Ingeborg still considers her a sister-in-law. She is well off financially, so she has to help out when Mrs. Ingeborg needs money for the dress.

A romantic comedy about Ingrid, the innkeeper's daughter, and Karsten, the landowner, who are in love. Ingrid's father is strongly opposed to the relationship because of an event that took place 40 years ago – and the estate's financial problems don't exactly help matters. Then three very different people arrive at the inn. The poet Ole, the Supreme Court lawyer Aagesen, and the record producer Blanquet. With their help, the landowner solves his financial problems and wins Ingrid's heart.
