The beautiful and charming Betina has been married for three years to psychiatrist and senior physician Dr. Arne Brant. They live in comfortable circumstances, have an adorable little daughter, Bente, and thus have everything they need to live happily in their comfortable villa. But Betina is restless. All year round, she devotes her time, and her husband's money, to helping those in need in the community. It has become her passion to participate in aid committees and to lead philanthropic work. The refined, elegant woman, always dressed in black, this "angel in black," is admired for her self-sacrifice.

This film could easily be a true story taken from contemporary Denmark. It is a typical Tuesday morning: stormy weather, slush, and bitter cold. Two young women are cycling to work. They make an unpleasant discovery: they find a dead man on a bench in the park.

Klaus Seeberg is conducting research to find a new perfume. His wife Dagny is growing impatient, which is why she secretly hooks up with Joachim Friis-Olsen. When Klaus discovers this, he goes to Paris to sell his invention. One evening in Paris, he meets a Danish woman named Betty. Back in Denmark, Klaus' aunt throws a party. In addition to Joachim, Betty unexpectedly shows up at the party. What will Klaus do now? Is he in love with Betty?

A husband is tempted to stray, gives in, and then struggles with himself and his conscience. A movie about the education for nurse told from Bente's perspective. She starts at the preschool at Rødkilde Højskole at Møn and comes from there to a hospital, where student time begins. After three years, Bente is trained and can get the nursing needle attached to the robe.

The celebrated actor George Bergmann has four divorces behind him. When his four former wives get the impression that he is cozying up to a very young actress, they feel that they must take action. However, this leads to various misunderstandings and complications, which partly involves the former wives' new men and partly the young girl's strict parents.

Peter West goes to Copenhagen to see if he can make a living as a painter. He is quickly accepted into the circle of young artists in the city. He quickly produces many paintings, but he cannot sell a single one. Susan, a young female journalist, is in love with Peter and decides to help him. At the old Copenhagen Castle, a strange drama is played out in the year 1699 - the last year of King Christian V's life. One winter day, the young Junker Friedrich von Kötschau comes from Hesse to Christian V's court. The old gloomy castle is filled with sadness, where the king's increasing weakness puts a damper on all the joy of life. Friedrich von Kötschau is a handsome young nobleman, and even His Majesty is delighted with his many cheerful inventions. In addition, he has a prescription for gold, and the king gives him permission to experiment in the castle cellar with the old palace pharmacist Paulus.
