Hanne and Barbara, girlfriends in their prime, go to Bad Elster for a cure, where they really let it crack - much to the delight of entrepreneur Edzard and globetrotter Georg. But the way to the second spring is not without thorns: The strict head nurse displeases the behavior of Hanne and Barbara very much. In addition, the two girlfriends dizzy their new admirers to secure their chances in the opposite sex. Unfortunately, these lies have short legs and the new love luck has to pass so much more than a test.

For 350 years, the Pfandlbräu brewery in Greimeling thrived, but production has fallen from 20,000 to 8,000 hectoliters annually. Michel Pfandl, a music-loving bachelor ill-suited to business, faces bankruptcy pressure from the house bank. They demand he marry widowed brewer Sophie to merge their fortunes. When he refuses, the bank initiates insolvency proceedings, forcing Michel to confront the brewery’s future and his own values.

On the occasion of his last regulars’ table in his old neighbourhood of Schwabing, the laconic pensioner Schorsch's pals treat him to a cab drive to his new home in Neuperlach in the outskirts of the city. But Schorsch rather wants to take one last look at his old downtown apartment which he had renovated himself after the war, and where he had lived for almost forty years until his landlord bullied him out of there as the latter wanted to use the space for expensive luxury apartments. Because Schorsch’s wife wanted to move to “the countryside”, they thereupon moved to the Neuperlach development site in the outskirts of Munich. But amongst the uniformly looking housing blocks, Schorsch can’t even find his new apartment, and so, the grumpy cabdriver Gustl becomes his companion on a nightly odyssey.

Xaver Bogenrieder, landlord of the Unterbräu, is laid to rest. At the funeral feast, the pretty widow Wally is courted by the pharmacist, the post office secretary and the professor. Now the brewmaster, who has long been a silent admirer of the widow, sees his moment. To show Wally who really loves her, he hatches a spooky plan together with the shepherd Sixtus. The deceased bridegroom must go around as a ghost, then the false suitors will stay away. Unfortunately, the gravedigger has the same idea, without the one knowing about the other. From then on, the small community has no peace, because it is haunted...

Otto runs a hotel for tourists in Tyrol but has troubles both with the economy and with his wife Olga. After a trip to Stockholm he imports three Swedish blondes who eventually save Otto from disaster, both marital and financial.
