In Cologne, a park bench ends up in the Rhine and floats with the flow - until one day it finally ends up in Langeoog. She is found on the beach by Gerold (Gerold Oltmanns) and his friends Wilhelm (Wilhelm Nessen) and Fokke (Marcel Willms) also join her after a short time. The three friends make it their mission to find the original owner of the bank.

World peace is under threat - it's a good thing that instructor Schmidt exists. The film deals loosely with the adventures of the grizzled Gustav who captains a ship – a giant floating ‘snailboat’ – with a crew of talking animals and lumbering sailors in blackface.
