1960. Night. A train on its way to the Iron Curtain. In it Sebastian - a guy like you and me. His actual mission was to escort an important painting to Prague. But after finding one of the guards murdered on the toilet, he is already in the middle of a bizarre 1960ies spy story.

Russell, a theatrical agent, is hoping to get his wife back after decades of family life as the kids have finally left home. His wife, Edie, is not happy about this. Their son Matt, is wrestling with a relationship in which he earns less than his successful girlfriend and daughter Rosa is wrestling with debt and the end of a turbulent love affair. Living on your own, it seems, may not be as glamorous as it's cracked up to be. Rosa is the first of the Boyd children to think she may have to move back in with her parents-just until she can make ends meet again. Set in Boston, Massachusetts, this is the empty nest, twenty-first-century style-with grown children coming and going just as parents are getting ready for their second honeymoon.

Frustrated, because he is forced to produce bad TV-shows, a manager of a TV-station, enters the station and manipulates the ratings, to initiate a TV-revolution.

There are two brothers who couldn't be more different. One, Anno Wilhelm, loves life and seeks to savor it in every way; the other, Julian, would like nothing better than to die. He has already made several suicide attempts, been hospitalized and suffered breakdowns. The men, in their late 20s, both grew up without a mother and have a difficult relationship with their father.
