The stage director of the play L’œuf de Pâquesis given the importante Molière award. Taking this reward for a bad joke, he thinks that a conspiracy mounts against him and decides to rewrite the play, transforming it into Molière’s La critique de l’École des femmes.

Successful author Antoine falls victim to a blackmailer, Jo. He decides to get rid of him according to his perfect crime scenario, gives up and finally lets him die accidentally. Antoine buries him under a bandstand being built in his garden. But Inspector Ducroc has his suspicions.

Fear invades Bellefontaine and everyone tries to coax Gaëtan with attentions and gifts.
