Dealing in Desire is a short, experimental film by Sarmad Khoosat and Saba Karim Khan, which explores the power dynamics between men and women, the emotional toll of exploitation and the reclaiming of agency in situations where we assume there is none. It is based on the poem “Dealing in Desire” by Saba Karim Khan and inspired by Manto’s short story, Hatak or The Insult.

Fatin, uncomfortable due to past abuse, faces pressure to care for him, including driving him to his appointments, forcing her to confront unresolved trauma while balancing family obligations.
