The orphan Jonna is longing for a mother. One day, an old car stops outside the orphanage and out steps a gorilla that picks Jonna for adoption. It soon becomes clear that they have more things in common than they initially thought. When they start becoming a family, Tord from the local authorities shows up and threatens to send Jonna back to the orphanage.

The forest’s police chief Gordon is about to retire and he needs to find a new assistant. Paddy, a clever mouse with a great sense of smell seems to be the right candidate. Together they have to solve Gordon’s last case – the mystery of squirrel’s missing nuts. Could it be the fox that took them? Gordon and Paddy will soon find out.

Dolores and Gunellen live together in a house with a small garden. They need each other to balance their lives. Gunellen's straightforwardness and curiosity makes Dolores let go a bit of her need for order, and Dolores' urge to "tell-all-about-how-every-thing-works" and follow routines helps Gunellen organizer her life. But one day, Gunellen says that she wants to see the world. Dolores does not want her to go!
