A down-on-his-luck Rotterdam dock worker struggles to get his financials and family life back on track.

The eccentric Miss Ank tries to pick up the pieces at her primary after the loss of their principal. Faced with a shortage of teachers, and increasingly demanding parents, the board hires an interim head to get things in order. Pretty soon e-teaching takes over, with an actual robot replacing the teachers, and CCTV enabling over-involved parents to keep a constant eye on what’s happening. Finding themselves up against this heartless new regime, pupils and teachers decide to join forces and rebel.

He has to do his very best to keep his distance. Their whole conversation takes place inside the cab, with many close-ups of their faces, while the street lights flash across the windscreen and the city glides by almost invisibly.

Two kids are forced to play together by their mothers. They discover a shared interest in planes though and soon they start a battle about who knows more about them. Their fantasy about planes turns into reality for the audience.

The lives of six people, who seem to have nothing more in common than their faraway homelands, become inextricably linked in Amsterdam, the city they have chosen as their new home.
