Infidelity is a taboo as old as the hills. This documentary explores its philosophical and psychological aspects by questioning libertines, victims of infidelity, psychologists and couple therapists.

Pastor Stefan Book once again has his hands full in his parish in St. Pauli: he has only just managed to talk the mentally distressed sexton Eddi out of attempting suicide when he learns that 16-year-old confirmation student Paloma and her boyfriend Winni, who is the same age, are expecting a child. As Paloma is still living with her alcoholic mother, the youth welfare office would prefer to give the baby to foster parents as soon as it is born. But Pastor Book fights to ensure that the two teenagers can take responsibility for their child despite the adverse circumstances.

Scotland Yard investigators have to prevent the murder of Victoria Dickman when her name is found on a death list.

Henriette lives alone in a luxurious old apartment in Wiesbaden, which she inherited from her parents. Her everyday life is as quiet and orderly as the large rooms around her. She works as a teacher at a nearby ballet school. She regularly writes letters to a composer whom she admires but has never met in person and spends her evenings with friends who are actually her parents' friends. A chance encounter jolts Henriette out of her quiet life: she observes Felix, who is deaf and mute, stealing money in a café that was meant for the waiter. When she speaks to him on the train shortly afterwards, it is the beginning of an unusual relationship full of contrasts and unspoken passion.

Junior police constable Karl-Heinz has just been given a telling-off by his boss for allegedly botching a major operation against car thieves. Now he senses an opportunity to rehabilitate himself when a gang of high-flying highway speeders catch his eye during a traffic check. Karl-Heinz decides to go undercover with the gang and gets to know their colorful characters. He soon takes more pleasure in the illegal speeding than is good for his health and career.

Oskar Roehler's drama Der Alte Affe Angst (Angst) is about the dissolution of a couple. Robert (Andre Hennicke) and Marie (Marie Baumer) have little in common other than their sex life. Since Robert is going through a bout with impotency, they are having a very rocky time. Robert learns that his father, whom he is estranged from, has died. This disturbs Robert so much that he visits a prostitute, and is able to engage in sex with her. Marie discovers the infidelity, and the prostitute has a surprise of her own. Angst was screened at the 2003 Berlin Film Festival.
