Lucien Muratore

The singer Saltore is accused of the murder of his wife's lover, and is sentenced to ten years' hard labour. His daughter proves his innocence when she discovers the culprit to be his wife, who wanted to end an embarrassing love affair.

A legendary French singer, missing for years and presumed dead, returns with no memory, his face hidden, his voice unmistakable. The woman who never stopped loving him clings to hope, while those who once betrayed him begin to fear he remembers everything.

The whimsical Riquet's has kidnapped and married a well-born young girl, Ralda. They travel around Spain performing their act in a circus but Ralda's beauty arouses the director's lust. Furious at being rejected, he opens a lion's cage during Ralda's act, leaving her seriously injured. With Ralda's family on their trail, the young people set off to find a better life elsewhere.
