A woman in her thirties does everything she can to avoid spending her birthday alone during a trip to the mountains. However, her repeated failures lead her to put herself in danger.

Mona lives with her adult son, Joël, who is "slow," as they say. He works in a specialized facility and is passionately in love with his coworker, Océane, who is also disabled. While Mona knows nothing of their relationship, she eventually learns that Océane is pregnant, and the symbiotic bond between mother and son falters.

On a sprawling urban suburbia during a sweltering summer, two young boys in love are at an impasse. Youssou has an opportunity to study abroad with a prestigious scholarship, while his boyfriend Malek advances in his art degree at a local school. As the pair wrestle with these destinies that are pulling them apart, their friends attempt to untangle the ambitions of these star-crossed lovers, all while tensions rise with the police who patrol the neighbourhood.

Everywhere in Artois, Juliette is said to treat sick cows. Juliette is a healer, for want of better, but her dream is to raise and sell animals.
