Continuing the story of the first film, Jaari 2 follows the journey of Namsang and his wife Hangma as they embark on a new chapter of their married life. The film's narrative is deeply rooted in the culture of the Limbu community and revolves around the Chyabrung, a traditional drum that symbolizes love, identity and resilience. The film explores how Namsang navigates personal struggles and the complexities of his community's traditions with the guidance of the drum's rhythms.

As the campus committee is warned to run the English classes properly or bear the consequences of shutting down, they decide to hire him for the job, which he declines. Maaila's love interest and the committee want him to take up the job but he is adamant.

Based on a real story, the film depicts the agonizing experience of a migrant worker overseas and the harsh realities his family faces back in Nepal. It heavily criticizes societal prejudices against the wives of migrant workers and exposes the dark side of politics surrounding foreign employment.
