William Brown, a neurotic, self-absorbed musician determined to finish his prog-rock magnum opus, faces a creative roadblock in the form of a noisy and grotesque neighbor named Vlad. Finally working up the nerve to demand that Vlad keep it down, William inadvertently decapitates him. But, while attempting to cover up one murder, William’s accidental reign of terror causes victims to pile up and become undead corpses who torment and create more bloody detours on his road to prog-rock Valhalla.

One year after their father's death, Charlie and Betty continue to ignore their grief, each other, and the mysterious creature following them. Their estranged Uncle Pete, believed to be dead, claims to know how to end the suffering.

On an evening drive, Ellington bumps into an old fling. As things tend to go whenever he is around, Ellington's night takes a turn for the worse.

Amidst many distractions, Samantha struggles to find her voice recording a new song. She encounters a mysterious stranger who reminds her of why she loves to create music.
