In the late 1990s, up-and-coming mixed martial artist Mark Kerr aspires to become the greatest fighter in the world. However, he must also battle his opiod dependence and a volatile relationship with his girlfriend Dawn.

PFL 8 was a mixed martial arts event produced by the Professional Fighters League that took place on August 18, 2023, at The Theater at Madison Square Garden in New York City, New York, United States. The event was headlined by Renan Ferreira facing off against Maurice Greene in an attempt to reach the heavyweight finals.

Other fighters include Takanotsume Tatsuya, Leona Pettas, Kizaemon Saiga, and Minoru Kimura across the card. A notable bout pits Kenta Hayashi against Kona Kato in the welterweight division. It’s K-1’s flagship event of spring 2022.

Submission Underground finally makes its 2021 debut today with Submission Underground 21. The card is headlined by the Submission Underground king and men’s champion Mason Fowler defending his belt against another SUG mainstay in “The Boogeyman” Richie Martinez. Both Martinez and Fowler won their most recent bouts by armbar in regulation at SUG’s last event, Submission Underground 20.

The K-1 WORLD GP 2021 JAPAN ～よこはまつり～ takes place on September 20, 2021, at Yokohama Arena in Yokohama, Japan. This kickboxing event features Kenta Hayashi facing Daizo Sasaki in a super lightweight bout as a key matchup. Other fighters include Rukiya Anpo, Sina Karimian, and Hirotaka Asahisa across various weight classes. A special heavyweight bout marks Satoshi Ishii’s kickboxing debut against Ryo Aitaka.

The submission grappling event created by Chael Sonnen, Submission Underground, returns for its 19th event and the final for 2020 with a barn burner of jiu-jitsu matches from Oregon. The line-up is peppered with UFC fighters including Donald Cerrone, Rafael dos Anjos, Felicia Spencer and Anthony “Rumble” Johnson amongst former fighters and Bellator standouts.

Mason Fowler will be defending his belt for the third time against Bellator heavyweight champion and former light heavyweight champion Ryan Bader. A former NCAA wrestling standout, Bader presents a different challenge than previous defenses. Also on the card, Craig Jones will face Vinny Magalhaes, who are both decorated Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu practitioners, along with former judo Olympic gold medalist Satoshi Ishii. Fowler won all of his previous defenses in the overtime ruleset.
