In 1956, a military-civilian coup against the self-appointed Liberating Revolution fails, and in José León Suárez, Argentina, several suspects believed to be part of the civil uprising are murdered. However, seven people survive and manage to tell the story.

Based on a true story, the film narrates the life of a fictitious Peronist union leader who, after years of militancy, gains power in the union during the 1960s and gradually becomes a corrupt bureaucrat.
