RENUKA is in love with SADIYA a neighbour who lives in the same slum as her. They are out celebrating RENUKA's birthday but unknown to them, MANGESH, her son, is around. The film is the story of these two relationships colliding.

The story revolves around Dr. Aarti Deshmukh, a mother of a daughter, is tasked with investigating the medical systems involved in female foeticide. In front of the conscientious Aarti who does her job well, Dr. Purushottam stands as a challenge. Despite many attempts, Aarti does not find any evidence against Purushottam. Purushottam eventually uses his powers to transfer Aarti, but in the days remaining before the transfer, Aarti takes up the task of gathering evidence.

'The Quest [Ringan]' is a story about the boundless love between father and son. Their life is hell on earth. Father Arjun's problems are getting too much for him: His land is affected by drought, their livelihood is threatened. Seeing no way out, he considers to take his own life. Only the unconditional love for his son motivates him to not give up and look for work, to be able to keep his land. Will the father be strong enough to secure his son's future? A film and an appeal for morality, reflecting important issues such as integrity, honesty, and mutual responsibility in times of need.
