Věra and Vladimír were a childless married couple. They were united by love, work, and the desire to have a child. When Vladimír suddenly dies at the age of 45, Věra finds herself at rock bottom. The story of a teacher, a famous actress, and her students set against the backdrop of the harsh normalization period, a time when, after the Soviet occupation, most people tried to survive in the gray zone, and only a handful of brave souls were willing to risk their positions in the fight against the regime.

The inventor and owner of the company "Neprasklo" (Unbreakable), Ing. Sýkora, wants to launch a revolutionary new product – unbreakable glass. However, his two greedy deputies have other plans – they eliminate Sýkora in the African waterfalls and attempt to sell the company to a foreign corporation. They replace the director with his doppelganger, the unsuspecting and unsuccessful extra Fanda Pažout. However, the villains have no idea that Sýkora is alive and returning.

The formerly petty crook, with the help of his accomplices, his son-in-law Buresh and fellow prisoner "The Engineer", joins the drug trade and begins his revenge. Michal is arrested for the rape of a girl he has never seen in his life, and it doesn't take much for Tomas to figure out that Kadlec is behind it all. What Tomas also doesn't realise for a long time is that the sympathetic Ivana, who has joined their business and with whom he has fallen in love, also works as a luxury prostitute and was put into the business by Kadlec.
