The trauma center is facing its busiest day of the year: New Year's Eve. Jannica Ronkainen, a surgical nurse on duty, is already looking forward to the end of the year. Tired of her relationship troubles, Jannica wants anything but new romantic worries for the coming year – until she encounters a ghost from her past at the hospital. New Year's Eve offers Jannica the chance for one last adventure of the year, but the clinic's new and demanding surgeon, Eero Mustonen, adds challenges to Jannica's plans.

Everything is on track in the life of the beloved but eccentric surgeon Petteri Holopainen but when a patient close to him is rushed to the hospital, nothing can go back to the way it was. Holopainen loses everything he holds dear. When a familiar person from the past enters his life, Holopainen must decide what still matters.

Mamu, a young immigrant, is trying to woo his date, a Finnish lady, by making dinner for her. Once the meal is served, she discovers that the main course is a bit too “excotic” for her taste.

Iiris tries to recover from her difficult separation with Artturi when she unexpectedly meets Anton. The relationship doesn't get a chance to progress far when Iiris' son Niilo suddenly becomes ill. Niilo would only need a small operation, but once the boy enters the operating room, the hospital is subjected to a cyber attack. The power is cut off, the ventilators stop working and all access to patient data is blocked. Nurses have to prioritize whose life is the most valuable.

Parikka, the actor once called the Funniest Man in Finland, and his troupe are about to be executed for the atrocities committed during the Civil War in Finland. Jaeger Lieutenant Nyborg, an admirer of Parikka, suspects a definite miscarriage of justice. He wants to save the actors. The forthcoming visit of the German General von der Goltz to the prison island provides him with a suitable opportunity. Nyborg suggests that the actors prepare a comical performance for the visitor and not be shot. Instead, they will be given a new trial. Preparing a comedy in the horrible circumstances, in the midst of hunger and death, seems quite an overwhelming task. Only a handful of real actors are still alive, the rest of the troupe consists of stagehands. Parikka has to use all his inventive skills to be able to produce something funny.

Dramatic comedy about having fun, throwing yourself into life without inhibition, overcoming the feeling of shame and accepting that few things in life go as planned.

Remu grew up in modest conditions. He dropped out from schoold during his teen age years and is making career as a small time criminal. His family's destiny is about to come true, and it's going to be the usual: jail, alcoholism and violent death. After learning about rock music Remu learns to play drums and pushes himself into different bands. His first time in jails interrupts his music career, but after being released he starts his own band; Hurriganes.

Middle-aged Maire's husband spends most of his time abroad on business. Alone in their large house, Maire fills her empty life by absorbing other people's tragedies from tabloid newspapers. Obsessed by the story about a young single mother whose husband was killed and the killer got away with it, she befriends the young widow who would rather forget the whole event and go on with her life.
